Fondation Paul Gérin-Lajoie

In 1991, the Paul Gérin-Lajoie Foundation created La Dictée P.G.L., a major educational project implemented in Canada and internationally for elementary and secondary school students. Over the years, this flagship program has been enriched with new initiatives, such as the Francophonie Dictée P.G.L. dedicated to businesses and the Municipal Dictée P.G.L. aimed at integrating newcomers.

The Paul Gérin-Lajoie Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to contribute to improving living conditions through quality education in Africa and Haiti. The Foundation is also recognized for its projects in socio-economic empowerment, health and food security, sustainable development, and gender equality. In Canada, the Foundation carries out awareness-raising activities on international cooperation and solidarity, notably through the Skills, Leadership, Education Volunteer Cooperation Program (CLÉ Program).

WUSC (World University Service of Canada)

WUSC is a Canadian non-profit organization catalyzing positive education and economic outcomes so that all young people, especially women and displaced youth, can thrive and belong.

Founded in the 1920s, WUSC began as part of a global movement to support students displaced by war, and has since evolved into a Canadian global development organization working in over a dozen countries. Today, WUSC works alongside local partners to expand access to education and build pathways to meaningful economic opportunities for youth and their communities.

Concretely, WUSC helps remove the barriers that keep young people from learning, earning, and belonging - whether that’s supporting young women to stay in school, helping youth gain skills that lead to decent work, or creating opportunities for displaced youth to rebuild their futures. And WUSC doesn’t do this alone: it’s powered by a broad network of people and institutions, including students, volunteers, and alumni, who help turn global solidarity into real, measurable change.
