WHAT IS THE VOLUNTEER COOPERATION PROGRAM?

The Volunteer Cooperation Program is a Government of Canada initiative that enables Canadians and permanent residents to share their knowledge and expertise by collaborating with partner organizations around the world.

Through their engagement, volunteers contribute to strengthening communities, supporting local initiatives, and building a more just and sustainable future.

SUCO

SUCO is an international development organization based in Montreal since 1961. It brings together people, knowledge, and resources to strengthen the autonomy of individuals, organizations, and communities.


SUCO supports communities in improving their social, economic, and environmental conditions by building, together with them, sustainable food systems and greater climate resilience. Across all its activities, SUCO ensures that the realities and needs of women are taken into account and that they fully participate in decision-making. Currently, SUCO operates in Canada and in 10 countries in West Africa and Latin America.

Oxfam-Quebec

Oxfam-Quebec is a non-profit and a non-partisan international solidarity organization.


It is a member of the Oxfam Confederation, a movement that unites millions of people for a just and sustainable world.


Together, we fight against inequalities to end poverty and injustice, now and for the long term.

UPA International Development (UPA DI)

UPA International Development (UPA DI) is an international development organization affiliated with the Union of Agricultural Producers (UPA) of Quebec. It focuses on developing family agricultural entrepreneurship as a sustainable model that balances economic, ecological, individual, and collective interests. Its support is primarily directed toward democratic professional agricultural organizations (PAOs) and the structuring of the agricultural and agri-food sector in the regions where it operates. UPA DI is active in around fifteen countries across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Latin America.
